Jun Wang is the James E. Ashton Professor of Engineering at the University of Iowa. He holds a faculty appointment in chemical and biochemical engineering in the UI College of Engineering, and he is assistant director of the Iowa Technology Institute. Wang's presentation on Sept. 14, 2021, to the Geography Department is titled "Environmental sensing from space and in agricultural fields."

In this talk, Wang introduces research topics in environmental sensing and presents the progresses that his team has made in the past 5-6 years. The talk ends with examples of the fruitful collaborations Wang has enjoyed with several colleagues in GSS in the past several years, and he shares a couple of thoughts to further these collaborations in the future.
