Biography

Evan Voelker is a Senior Application Programmer at the Operator Performance Laboratory. He specializes in software integration and development for aircraft systems. Evan is experienced in aircraft system modeling. He has worked over half a decade in commercial aircraft simulator development, building FAA certified training simulators for commercial pilot training. As a commercial simulation developer, his work has involved aerodynamic modeling and engine simulation for 30+ unique aircraft types, including Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, and Bombardier aircraft. He has developed simulated aircraft models from flight test data capable of passing the highest standards of FAA trainer certification. Evan has an BS in both Applied Mathematics and Aerospace Engineering, and has over a decade of research and industry experience. He worked on structural modeling, vibration mitigation design, and component fabrication at NASA Goddard, supporting the Ballon Experimental Twin Telescope For Infrared Interferometry (BETTI) project. He has also developed image processing software for capture, filtering, and projection of 2D imagery onto 3D topologies for industrial metrology applications.
