Edward Hyer and David Peterson, both with the Navy Research Laboratory in Monterey, California, were the featured speakers of University of Iowa's Climate / Atmospheric Science & Engineering (CASE) Colloquium series in May 2023. 

A group of new hires, interns, and co-ops, who work in the area of airborne autonomy at Collins Aerospace, toured the University of Iowa Operator Performance Lab flight test facility. Tom “Mach” Schnell,  and OPL director, presented the lab to the group and explained how OPL tests and operates autonomy in a variety of contexts.

Soura Dasgupta, a University of Iowa (UI) Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, is collaborating on a multidisciplinary research project to improve detection and treatment of Parkinson’s disease (PD).  

The University of Iowa’s Operator Performance Lab (OPL) was among those who evaluated the next generation fixed wing helmet that was recently selected by the U.S. Air Force as the new standard helmet for many of its aircraft.  

Recent BME graduate Bhavya Vats received the Academic & Scholarly Achievement Award at the 2023 International Student Graduation Celebration. Vats has demonstrated a keen interest in research, working in three different labs, including the Ankrum Lab.

Researchers from the University of Iowa will play a key role in boosting Iowa’s position as a leader in bioscience and advanced manufacturing through a new project sponsored by the National Science Foundation. ITI affiliate Allan Guymon is among those contributing.

Xuan Song was recognized for scholarly activities, accomplishments, and significant contributions to teaching, research, and service that are remarkable for someone early in their academic career.

Jingqiu Mao, associate professor of atmospheric chemistry at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks, was the featured speaker of University of Iowa's Climate / Atmospheric Science & Engineering (CASE) Colloquium series on April 21, 2023.
