The Visual Intelligence Laboratory conducts fundamental research in computational geometry, vision, and machine learning, targeting a wide variety of multidisciplinary applications: geometric machine (deep) learning, statistical shape analysis, 4D scanning, computational design and fabrication, digital human modeling, driver state detection/analysis, sports performance analytics, injury prediction, etc.

Steve Baek is assistant professor of industrial and systems engineering and a cluster faculty member in the Public Digital Arts Cluster. He holds secondary appointments in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Radiation Oncology and directs the Visual Intelligence Laboratory at the Iowa Technology Institute.
